27th June, Clark sees Alexis write. The black-inked ballpoint pen in Alexis' hand forms letters across the white paper. The paper has become a bit crumpled since Alexis writes on it with the paper against her lap. Her right hand guides her pen while her left hand hugs her knees as if it is unseasonably cold. Clark is sitting cross-legged beside his friend on the grassy terrain with his hand propping his head as he watches Alexis with an inscrutable expression on his face. The two have positioned themselves by their late friend's tombstone, Blake, who died a few weeks ago in a road accident after he was put in a coma for four days. After Blake
Oh no. It's starting again.
Initiating boredom.
The television is on but I'm not watching. Just staring blankly at the screen. The host spills some words out of his mouth and the audience laughs in response. Was that supposed to be hilarious? I'm not even smiling, let alone laughing. I direct the remote control in front of the television and starts the channel-flicking-marathon. Self-explanatory, really. It's where I flick channels until I just stop because I feel like it. I turn the television off after a while of channel-surfing. I saunter to the kitchen to check the refrigerator. It's almost full but to my eyes, all that's visible is a v
There are white clouds hovering in the vast blue expanse above. I rise from my supine condition, grab my backpack of stuff and leave the park, ambling to the nearest restaurant. When I've arrived, I am not alone. There are others there too, searching for edible materials. It doesn't have to be nourishing, just something that could give us energy to carry on our pointless lives. I join them in the dark alleyoh, it's dark everywhere now! The alley is darker than other places so some of us have flashlights to guide our food search.
I begin my search with an untouched metallic dustbin. I remove the lid and tear the black garbage bag inside

ScreamPrompt #25, April 2012
Fourth Month.
Four weeks.
Four stories.
Four thousand words.
For real.
:w00t: All prompts are live :w00t:
Here's what's gonna happen. I will list four prompts, one for each week of this month. Once a new week starts, the prompt for that week will be posted. Since I've been rather word-count heavy lately, we're taking it back to Flash Fiction. Because the prompts are going to be fairly simple compared to the past, I will be attaching a difficulty to each one, mostly to help you avoid leaping toward to most obvious initial ideas. Read on...

This applies to everyone! Share this message as much as you can and don't allow your freedoms to be stolen away.
These bills are not dead. Even gigantic websites like Wikipedia and Tumblr are taking part. However, this doesn't mean t

Welcome to #9bottles! I hope you enjoy our community of writers and find yourself improving as a writer Our main goal is to inspire you, not hand out flat writing prompts, so you can focus on the emotion and depth of your pieces. It would be greatly appreciated if you checked out the two articles found on our homepage! They'll give you a better idea of the group.
